Do you want to peek behind the scenes of a film festival, spend your free time meaningfully, and meet friendly people? Then you're in the right place!
 

We are looking for volunteers to join us in planning and organizing the 7th Taiwan Film Festival Berlin, taking place in September 2024, in Berlin, starting from the Spring of 2024.
 

If you have a few hours a week for volunteer work, you can apply to become a team member. Team members actively contribute to organizing the festival – you can engage in various areas and take on different responsibilities both during the preparation phase and throughout the festival. This is an opportunity to showcase your skills or discover entirely new fields of activity. In return, we expect our team members to regularly participate in team meetings (via Google Meet or in person, approximately every weeks for 2-3 hours), and ideally, be fully present during the festival and for setup and teardown.

• Decoration Team (Decorative Design of Festival Grounds)

The various working areas:

Event Technology

​

Tasks:

• Supervision of event technology during the festival (including setup and breakdown)

• Responsibility for the smooth technical flow of events (lectures, workshops, etc.)

Requirements:

• Technical understanding (video and audio technology, live streaming, computer skills in Mac and Windows)

• Reliability

• Teamwork

• Stress resistance

• Experience as an event or sound technician is advantageous but not required
   

 

Construction Team

Tasks:

• Setup and breakdown of bars, booths, and decorations in festival centers

• Arrangement of event spaces and offices

• Transport of festival equipment

• Modifications during the festival

• Inventory and warehouse management

Requirements:

Helpers and Drivers Coordination

Tasks:

• Contact and support of voluntary helpers and drivers (before, during, and after the festival)

• Recruitment of new helpers and drivers

• Creation of shift schedules for voluntary helpers

• Manning the helper organization stand during the festival

Requirements:

• Good communication skills

• Reliability

• Teamwork

• Improvisation and coordination skills

• Enjoyment of working with lists and schedules

• PC skills (Excel, Word)

• Enjoyment of interacting with various people

Catering

​

Tasks:

• Providing warm and cold meals and drinks to international guests, voluntary helpers, and the festival team

• Menu planning, purchases

• Supervision of the catering room during the festival

• Preparation of lunch packages

• Assistance with the guest brunch and Meet & Greet reception

Requirements:

• Enjoyment of cooking and preparing food

• Sense of order and cleanliness

• English language skills desirable

• Improvisation talent

• Enjoyment of hosting people

Ticketing

Tasks:

• Entering events into the online ticketing system in May 2023

• Responding to customer inquiries via email

• Supervising ticket sales points in festival locations

• Managing and booking various ticket quotas and complimentary tickets

Requirements:

• PC skills (Excel)

• Very structured and careful work

• Enjoyment of interacting with various people

Merchandising

Tasks:

• Ordering and managing products offered at our sales booth (T-shirts, bags, films, books, etc.)

• Obtaining quotes, contacting various suppliers

• Creating price lists

• Pricing products

• Daily setup and management of the sales booth

• Instruction and support of helpers at the sales booth

• Inventory and warehouse management

Requirements:

Decoration Team (Decorative Design of Festival Grounds)

Tasks:

• Idea collection and conceptualization of decoration for the festival grounds

• Creation of decorative elements (especially origami folding)

• Decorative design of the Mousonturm and Naxoshalle venues during festival setup

• Daily preparation of venues before house opening during the festival

• Participation in modifications for events during the festival

• Breakdown and storage of decorations
